About the artist

Alexander Tinti

Born 1950 in Vienna, Austria.

1970–75 Studied sculpting and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts (masterclass Fritz Wotruba) and biology at the University of Vienna, most notably with Konrad Lorenz.

1975–98 Worked as director and stage designer in Austria, Germany and New York City.

1999–2015 Moved to Asia, which brought about a shift to become an environmentalist.

2016–25 Developed the Refugio Tinti, an environmental project in Costa Rica (www.refugiotinti.com).

2025 Back in Vienna, distilling now all his life’s experiences into sculpting. Lives and works in Vienna.
